nice to meet you!

I'm Tara, a product designer with a passion for developing thoughtful end-to-end experiences that keep user needs at the heart of it all.

I'm currently seeking 2025 new grad roles in product design and look forward to my next opportunity!

why design?

I started off my career in software as a frontend developer but was always intrigued by the product thinking and decision making that went into the designs before they were handed off to me. I enjoyed actively collaborating with designers to find solutions that were both efficient and intuitive, balancing the interests of engineering, product and design. To me, designers are the translators that transform business and product goals into actionable engineering steps while keeping user needs at the core, and I love it all!

I was first exposed to design when I worked at Faire, a wholesale marketplace that facilitates interactions between retailers and businesses. I was working as a frontend engineer when I came across a user problem that while engineering could have improved, only design could truly solve. Here's the full story if you're interested!

I recently finished a product design internship at MedMe Health and am looking for full-time positions starting Fall 2025. If you have an opportunity you think I might be suited for, please reach out!

words from previous mentors...

"I had the pleasure of working with Tara during her time at MedMe as a product designer co-op, where she demonstrated exceptional self-management, collaboration, and UI design implementation skills. Tara’s ability to manage her work remotely with minimal oversight was outstanding. Her adaptability, especially in handling shifting priorities and working across multiple teams, was truly impressive.

Tara is a natural collaborator. She breaks down complex projects with ease, making them understandable for everyone involved. Whether it was managing design reviews with stakeholders or seeking feedback on Slack and Figma, Tara was always approachable and clear in her communication. Her ability to integrate feedback and explain her design choices through detailed Loom videos further highlighted her expertise and willingness to collaborate through the design process.

When it came to delivering results, Tara was consistently reliable. She met all her deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work. Her proactive approach for continuous iterations/improvement and commitment to excellence truly set her apart from other design co-op placements. I highly recommend her to any team looking for a talented, self-driven product designer who excels in collaboration and execution."

- Ramin Shokrizadeh | Head of Product @ MedMe Health

"I had the pleasure of managing Tara while she was a design intern on my team, and worked with her when she was an FE co-op for a couple terms as well. During her design co-op term, she was able to manage multiple projects from beginning to end—she dug into the user research, pulled data to analyze, and specc’ed out final designs. She collaborated well with the team, seeking and incorporating feedback consistently from other designers and engineers. Throughout this all, she always kept the end-user in mind, demonstrating a keen sense of empathy and a curiosity-driven approach that helped up-level her work. It was a pleasure to have her on the team, and I’m confident she is poised for continued success in the design field!"

- Jasmine Shen | Staff Product Designer @ Faire

"Tara was a Product Design intern/co-op on my team at Faire for a couple of terms, focused on improving the experience that retailers have with managing their shops on our platform. She shared work often in our pillar-level design critiques and was always open to feedback. Her experience with front-end development also adds a great capability of understanding how the experience would likely be built and automatically made working with the Engineering team smoother. She was a great addition to our team and I'd welcome the opportunity to work with her again in a heartbeat."
